The Gayest Art Show Ever

“The  Gayest Art Show Ever” is an exhibition inspired by the creativity and  vibrancy of our local queer community. This show will hold space for  LGBTQ+ folks to gather and celebrate during the 2024 Duluth/Superior  Pride Weekend.

All  artists who identify as queer and reside within the Twin Ports area are  welcome/encouraged to submit! (Submission details below)

The Gayest Art Show Ever

A community exhibition celebrating local LGBTQ+ Artists.

“The  Gayest Art Show Ever” is an exhibition inspired by the creativity and  vibrancy of our local queer community. This show will hold space for  LGBTQ+ folks to gather and celebrate during the 2024 Duluth/Superior  Pride Weekend.  

Selected artworks may explore (but are not limited to) • Your experience in the queer community • Being queer in a rural area • Connection, empathy, and understanding • Misconceptions about the queer community • Queer joy, Queer rage, and everything in-between.

Submissions are open to all LGBTQ+ folks residing in St. Louis County. Specifications • Open to all subjects and/or styles •  Open to all media that can be wall-mounted or set on a pedestal. All  works should be completed in a ready-to-hang or ready-to-display format. • There are no size requirements or limitations beyond practical considerations of space (must fit through conventional door)

Submission Deadline for submission is August 3rd, 2024 (midnight, central time.)

All artists will be notified upon acceptance with a deadline of August 10, 2024. Selected artwork is to be dropped off, or mailed in by August 17, 2024. Opening reception August 30, 2024

All submission materials must be written in English. All work is shown at the artist's own risk. All work shipped to Prøve Gallery must be sent with return shipping or be picked up by the artist or an artist's representative.

About Prøve Gallery

Prøve  Gallery is a non-profit contemporary and experimental art gallery  located in downtown Duluth. We are a cultural organization dedicated to  the role of art exhibition as a conduit of powerful ideas and diverse  viewpoints.

Our  mission is to foster a greater appreciation of the contemporary arts,  to bridge cultures, create and expand community, and provide cultural  exchange, networking opportunities and educational outreach through  regular interaction with the contemporary arts. It is the goal of Prøve  Gallery to present monthly gallery shows, collaborate with like-minded  artists and arts organizations, and provide an art retail environment.
